Customer terms for verified-human appeal workflows.
These pilot-ready terms define the boundaries for using AppealLayer as B2B SaaS infrastructure.
Last updated: April 20, 2026
Agreement
These Terms govern access to AppealLayer, an Enstellis SRL product, including the website, dashboard, public appeal pages, APIs, webhooks, documentation, and related services.
By creating an account, using the dashboard, integrating the API, or joining a pilot, the customer agrees to these Terms unless a separately signed agreement with Enstellis SRL says otherwise.
Service scope
AppealLayer helps customers receive, verify, route, review, document, and return outcomes for appeals from real humans affected by automated decisions. AppealLayer does not decide appeals by default.
- customers create appealable decisions and are responsible for the accuracy of decision descriptions
- appellants may prove humanness with World ID and submit one appeal for a specific decision
- customer reviewers own the final outcome and response to the appellant
- AppealLayer may generate audit logs, webhook events, receipt hashes, and optional receipt anchoring once implemented
Customer responsibilities
- maintain a lawful basis for the original decision, appeal process, and data submitted to AppealLayer
- provide accurate, non-misleading appeal descriptions and deadlines
- review appeals according to the customer's own policies and legal obligations
- keep API keys, webhook secrets, admin accounts, and reviewer accounts secure
- avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive data and avoid instructing appellants to submit more data than needed
- honor applicable privacy, consumer, platform, employment, financial, health, and sector-specific rules
- not misrepresent AppealLayer, Enstellis SRL, World ID, World Foundation, Tools for Humanity, or World
Prohibited initial use cases
AppealLayer is not approved for high-risk regulated decisions during the MVP and pilot phase unless Enstellis SRL gives explicit written approval after legal review.
- credit, lending, banking, or insurance decisions
- healthcare eligibility, treatment, or insurance workflows
- employment, hiring, education admissions, or housing decisions
- government benefits, immigration, law enforcement, or criminal justice workflows
- children's data workflows or child-safety moderation
- any workflow where a regulated appeal process is required by law unless Enstellis SRL has approved it in writing
Acceptable use
- do not use AppealLayer for unlawful, deceptive, discriminatory, harassing, abusive, or rights-infringing workflows
- do not submit malware, executables, credential dumps, payment card data, or unnecessary special-category data
- do not attempt to bypass rate limits, tenant isolation, duplicate prevention, access controls, or audit logging
- do not scrape, reverse engineer, attack, benchmark for publication, or stress the service without written permission
- do not use AppealLayer to build a competing product by copying non-public functionality, design, or documentation
Privacy and data processing
The Privacy Policy explains how Enstellis SRL processes personal data. For customer-controlled appeal case data, Enstellis SRL normally acts as processor and the customer acts as controller. A Data Processing Addendum is available at /dpa.
World ID independence
AppealLayer is an independent third-party application. AppealLayer is not operated by, endorsed by, or officially affiliated with World Foundation, Tools for Humanity, or World unless expressly stated. AppealLayer uses World ID to enable privacy-preserving proof of human.
API keys and security
Customers are responsible for protecting API keys and webhook secrets. Raw API keys are shown once and should be stored in a secure secrets manager. Enstellis SRL may suspend or revoke access where it reasonably believes credentials are compromised or the service is being abused.
Pilot, fees, and changes
Pilot access may be free or discounted and may include experimental functionality. Paid plans, usage limits, and invoice terms will be stated in an order form, dashboard, invoice, or signed agreement.
Enstellis SRL may improve or change the service over time. Material legal changes should be announced through the website, dashboard, email, or customer notice before they take effect where required.
Disclaimers
AppealLayer is provided as software infrastructure. It is not legal advice, a legal appeal service, a court, an arbitrator, a regulator, a public complaint board, a KYC provider, or a guarantee of reversal.
Governing law and contact
Unless a signed agreement says otherwise, these Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Romania, with mandatory EU consumer, privacy, and public-law protections preserved where applicable.
